When it comes to saving money, the cost of home computer equipment is one of the areas people think about less. Yet, with most people upgrading about every three years it’s a good place to look for cutting expenses. There are several different aspects to that effort.

Most buyers shop around, but they are not very technically inclined. That means they are likely to buy a little more than they really need, investing dollars that bring very little return. Some specifics will prove the point.

Easy Ways to Save Money on Bills

Here are a few easy tips to help lower your monthly bills!

1. Turn off lights and appliances when you’re not using them.

This is an easy one, but if you get in the habit of doing it regularly you will notice a nice reduction in your electric bill. Turn off lights as you exit the rooms, turn your computer off at night, and only keep the refrigerator door open to get the food (not when you’re deciding what to get). I even unplug appliances and devices (like the toaster and my cell phone charger) when aren’t in use to help save a bit there too because even though the appliances aren’t on they’re still drawing small amounts of energy if they’re plugged into the socket - which adds up.

2. Use CFL energy-saving light bulbs

Throwing Great Parties that Don’t Leave You Broke

dinner-party Throwing Great Parties that Dont Leave You BrokeWhen money is tight we’re hit with a dilemma: we want something to lift the gloom, but everything that would do it seems to cost too much. Football tickets? Yikes! Who knew a game could cost so much. Dinner out? Wow! Will you look at that bill. But giving a party can resolve that dilemma. It can offer a great time for everyone at minimal cost.

One way is to ask everyone to pitch in. Sure, when you’re flush you’d like to treat everyone to gallons of free booze and great food. But your neighbors are all in the same situation as you. They’ll understand that isn’t feasible right now.

Money Saving Monday Vol.10 - Online Resources for Grocery Store Coupons

internet Money Saving Monday Vol.10 - Online Resources for Grocery Store Coupons If you followed my posts about the wonders of the Grocery Game then you know that coupons can save you tons of money. I managed to lower my grocery bill by about 40-60% per month, which is about $200-$300 less than what I was spending before. Pretty amazing right?

Well, a huge part of my grocery store savings are coupons. I know some people don’t like clipping coupons or simply don’t get the Sunday newspaper, so I thought I’d offer you some grocery store coupon resources that  are Internet based. These are online sources that offer both printable grocery store coupons and eCoupons. eCoupons are coupons that are electronically loaded to your grocery store savings card (i.e. your Ralphs card, Vons card, etc.) so there is no coupon clipping necessary.
